What was poured into them has been poured out to us. But what they poured out can only be received by prepared vessels.
The term “pour out” can mean causing a liquid to flow from a container into a cup or another vessel. It can also be used as expressing one’s feelings in an unrestrained way.
When we pour into others, God pours into us. What we receive from God through our fellowship with Jesus Christ, we are to give to others.
He urges Timothy to preach the Word with courage — whether the season feels favorable or not.
The ultimate picture is Christ defeating Satan through His suffering on the cross. It appeared Satan had the upper hand — but that was not true. As the young people say, it was a plot twist.
The crux of the matter here is that the person who is speaking — because we know it’s the prophet Isaiah, right? But he’s speaking on God’s behalf. And we know that Isaiah was the real deal.
