Our Leadership

Pastor Beverly Caesar Sherrod is an anointed servant of God and a teacher of His Holy Word. Her generational longevity has established sound footing for her in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Beverly Caesar Sherrod was born in Queens, New York to the late Bishop Roderick Caesar Sr. and Gertrude Caesar, founders of Bethel Gospel Tabernacle whom the Lord used to birth this ministry ninety years ago and where Pastor Beverly still faithfully serves.

Years later we now see the promises of God coming to pass. Like his grandfather and father before him, Roderick is a preacher and a teacher of God’s Word. In November 2014 he became a licensed Minister and in May 2016 he was ordained as a minister of Bethel Gospel Tabernacle. He oversees the Young Adult Ministry, Imago Dei, and lends leadership in the Youth Ministry, Joppa. He was installed as Senior Pastor of Bethel Gospel Tabernacle on November 11, 2017. Youth With A Mission also helped prepare Roderick for ministry. He completed the Discipleship Training School in 2012, School of Biblical Studies in 2013, and Leading By The Spirit Course in 2013. Roderick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Gordon College (2011) and a Masters in Divinity from Nyack Alliance Theological Seminary (2017).

Pastor Beverly has obtained a TH.B. from Vision International University and a B.A. degree from The College of New Rochelle. She is also a graduate of the NYC Christian Counseling Center and a graduate of Adelphi University where she received a Master of Social Work degree. She holds membership in AACC, the American Association for Christian Counselors. Pastor Beverly loves the Lord with her whole heart and desires to be remembered as one who WHOLLY followed Him all the way.

Pastor Beverly is married to Pastor John Sherrod and has an adult daughter Reverend Rhonda Saunders, both actively serving in Bethel Gospel Tabernacle Fellowship International, located in Jamaica, New York.

Dr. Roderick R. Caesar is the Overseer of the Foundation Church, and the International Bishop of Bethel Gospel Tabernacle Fellowship Fellowship International(BGTFI). He is the son of Bethel's founders, Bishop Roderick R. Caesar, Sr. and Gertrude Brown Caesar. For 10 years he served as Pastor of Calvary Full Gospel Church in Woodside, Queens, a branch church of BGT. Upon the passing of his mother, who was then Assistant Pastor of Bethel, the executive board unanimously named him the new Assistant Pastor. In that capacity he served for seven years, assisting his father in ministry.

In 1984, Bishop Sr., a wise man, followed the promptings of the Holy Spirit and put his son in place as Senior Pastor; relinquishing his position, passing the mantle to his progeny. In November 1994, under the mentoring of his father, Roderick was consecrated to the office of Bishop, becoming overseer of Bethel Gospel Tabernacle Fellowship International. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northgate Bible College and Logos Bible College, as well as a formal theological education at Zion and Bethel Bible institutes. BGT has been a mission-driven church for over 40 years and currently has mission outreaches locally, nationally and internationally.

Bishop Caesar not only shepherds a congregation of 2,000 members, he is the overseer of five branch churches, including a thriving church in Haiti. With vision and keen intelligence, he is building a strong church and molding a future for Bethel. He is the president of Bethel's 74-year-old Bible Institute and is on the board of Logos Bible College and Graduate School. He serves on the Mens Discipleship Network and on the Legacy Minded Men's Ministry. His daily radio was broadcast on WMCA 570AM at 8:45a for many years. He oversaw a thriving summer camp in the catskill mountains - Camp Joharie.

Bishop Caesar earned a Doctorate of Divinity in November 1994, from Vision Christian College. He is also listed in the world-wide registry of Who’s Who. Bethel’s media ministry has greatly expanded under his direction.

With Bishop Caesar's eagle eye, intelligence and proven acumen, Bethel Gospel Tabernacle will always be committed to the great task of establishing the purpose of the church in the community and winning souls to Christ. It is with this God-given insight that he is prepared his son, Roderick Caesar lll who now serves as the senior pastor of BGT.

Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, under the visionary guidance of Dr. Caesar, will continue to soar to higher heights and deeper depths in God; to greater accomplishments with the same perseverance, grace and strength of the eagle. Dr. Caesar lives in Hollis, Queens, with his wife, Beverly. They have four children, two granddaughters, and two grandsons.

Beverly Morrison Caesar, affectionately called Pastor Bev, is the wife of Bishop Roderick R. Caesar, Senior, Overseer of Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, Jamaica N.Y. In addition to her husband of 30+ years, she is also blessed with 3 daughters, her miracle son Roderick, III,  3  granddaughters and 2 grandsons.

Pastor Bev has a B.S. Degree from Hunter College and a B.Th. degree from Bethel Bible Institute, where she is now a professor. She devotes her time firstly to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, secondly to her family and thirdly to the many ministries to which she has been called.
