Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” – Matthew 19:13-14
What does it mean to be Christened?
A Christening or baby dedication is a scheduled time where Parents desire to dedicate their child to God and pledge to raise the child in the Christian faith.
While a christening is not a salvation, it is important because it is a proclamation and pledge for the family and community that the child will be dedicated to the things of God. We believe in the importance of giving the children a time to come to Jesus. Jesus said, “let the children come to me”, and we must become like a child to enter the kingdom of Heaven.
What happens during a Christening?
Your family and loved ones will be called to the stage during one of our services. Your child will be held, anointed with oil on their forehead and prayed for. At the conclusion of the prayer they will be given a Bible and the church will celebrate with the family.
